Jim’s sixteenth recording for Hickory Cove Music is his most relaxing yet. And it’s his first CD of all original music.

Most of these 14 compositions were inspired by patterns in nature–the delicate interlacings of pine needles, dappled light in the woods, receding layers of mountains across a Blue Ridge vista.

Jim decided to also make this CD a bit different from his others by taking advantage of the sound palette available to keyboard players today. So, in addition to the traditional grand piano, he used the tones of an acoustic guitar as well as several electric piano sounds.

The effect is pure relaxation. (This CD is very popular on Pandora, by the way.)

He says, “Some of the songs here are very melodic–Simple Song and Waltz for Sandra, for example. Others are atmospheric–more like quiet tonal explorations. I think that’s what makes them particularly relaxing.”

We know you’ll agree. Tapestry is Jim’s first original-music CD . . . but it won’t be his last.
