The picture we kept in mind as we produced this recording was of a quiet evening by the fire, a Christmas tree lighted in the corner, a mug of hot chocolate or cider at hand . . . and soft music of the season in the background.
So there are no synthesizers, drums, or guitars–just Jim’s sensitive piano 
improvisations on these much-loved melodies.
In fact, this album grew out of a Christmas recording that Jim made for his friends. Response was so positive that he re-recorded and expanded it for Hickory Cove.
These are the “old Christmas songs” that we grew up with–the ones that have been enjoyed by many generations, and that will still be sung far into the future.
